This is an assignment on developing a product in our course, new product management. We have tried to include the three primal aspects i.e. Form, Technology and Need.
Need: a transparent and error free recruitment system.
Form: Interactive, web based simulations (Both Multiuser and single user format)
Technology: IT, J2EE, J2ME, XML

ReplyDeleteAccording to me Gamer Disposition sounds to be a very useful product for the current situation when the recruters find it very tough to select the right person in the given time which is very less to judge that person. This product will bring out the analytical and leadership skills of a person and also we will come to know that how comfortable he is in working with the team. I think this product is good enough to be used by the Indian Government for the intervies of IAS, PCS and also for the SSB interviews of army and airforce. The Gamer Disposition can be one of the rounds in these interviews and will help the recruiter in getting more insights anout the candidates.

ReplyDeleteYes, even with best techniques and the best panel may be wrong in their selection. however the correct tool would minimize the error and the organization wont be saddled with frankenstiens. the cost of a wrong selection amount to one year's salary.
The age old maxim, hire for attitude and train for skills, holds good in all fields.
the objective is to accumulate depth and breadth of info to make an informed judgment about each candidate's potential to advance their carrier and improve productivity.

Using gaming for evaluation of personalities is not a new concept, but incorporating it for recruitment is something I've never heard of. If the system works precisely as you say with minimal error in evaluation, This tool will definitely help make life easy for recruiters in the organizations.

ReplyDeletethis can create a buzz amongst the HR circles. buyt i have a few reservations, first is would this product or idea be viable?? secondly where will you get infrastructure to run all these.
The web based recruitment tool could be a big help atleast in case of corporates, who have mass recruitment policies.
ReplyDeletethe flaw could be that judgement parameters that have to be customized to an extent for all kinds of profile(in terms of attitude, skills) could create some prblems for the developer, and that Knowledge part is essential to a lot of profiles, which might not be covered easily in this tool.
The product will need a lot of demo and testing for being a proven thing... but a great concept overall..

Adding this step in present process will surely help both the organisation and the individual in exploring the correct potential for in around development. Certainly appreciable thought!
i think this can be a great help in removing the human error in a process that is so critical and important for every type of business or organization.
